What Is The Good News?

In a world that has so much drama and people who seek to do harm to others, why would there be any good news? Sure, we see babies being born and people enjoying themselves such as the movies and amusement parks but all too often we hear about the evil in peoples' hearts which sometimes seem to
overshadow the good.

What hope is there? What do we have to look for if living in a world that is ran by the persuasive tongue of Satan? The first thing we must do is stop focusing on the world around us and aim our focus in one direction, towards Jesus Christ. Someone may ask the question, "Why should I focus on Jesus Christ when all around me is chaos?"

Hebrews 12:2 says that Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith? You maybe asking how is that so? John 3:16-17 lets us know that God so loved the world that He sent Jesus into this world to be the perfect sacrifice because of the sins of man. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 let's us know that Christ died, was buried, and was resurrected on the third day. That resurrection meant that Jesus rose to all power as He ascended back into where He came from, heaven and sits at the right hand of the Father.

So what's the good news? Jesus died for you and for me and for the entire world and if you believe that He did and that He is the Son of the living God and willing to make that confession, Matthew 10:32, Romans 10:9, you can be saved even though you live in this world. Be willing to change your life and turn away from this world and your sins and start walking toward salvation in Jesus Christ.

You must also be baptized, Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38. Baptism is when you are fully submerged in water and when you come up, you are a new creature in Christ, 2 Corinthians 5:17. There is no such thing as the "sinner's prayer" or praying to "accept Jesus into your heart". You must be baptized according to the Scriptures.

And then you must walk faithfully until the very end, Revelation 2:17. If there is anyone reading this, do not focus on the world, focus on Christ. Do not give into your surroundings, give into the Word of God. Do not lose hope and give up, find hope in Jesus and the work He has done on the cross and live for Christ by being in Christ. Being in Christ does not make the world stop doing what the world does, but it helps you to have a peace, that is not found in the world, a peace that surpasses all understanding, Philippians 4:7.

God bless!
